locating kernel headers

How to locate kernel headers
I use Fedora Core 6 read some where some one suggested to look in /usr/src
there I see a folder name redhat
here i see the following
directories
BUILD RPMS SOURCES SPECS SRPMS

all of these are blanks
the question is how to find kernel headers/source what ever it is

if not present then what should I do
I have output of command uname -a

2.6.18-1.2798.fc6xen #1 SMP Mon Oct 16 15:11:19 EDT 2006 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

Your Kernel header source files should be on your cd/dvd. Use your package manager to add them to your system.

If you're not using the kernel on the installation disk, you can get the current Fedora versions by :
Quote:
yum install kernel-devel

If installed, they will be in /usr/src/kernels/, if the "kernels" directory does not exit, the source is not installed. It will also be linked to /lib/modules/uname -r/build directory where all the action takes place, again, it the "build" directory is not present, the source is not installed. Usually it has been suggested to install both kernel-source and kernel-headers packages for Fedora Core 6, not sure if they are both required as I have just followed suggestions so far.
