Load gnome 3 Standard Experience
I upgraded from Fedora 14 to Fedora 16 yesterday using the installation DVD on my two machines both completed OK. On my laptop however (HP 4320s) gnome 3 loads in fallback mode but on my desktop it's working fine. Any ideas on what I could be missing?

Usually gnome3 goes to fallback mode when your system doesn't meet hardware requirements.
If I remember correctly there's also a setting to force it to go into fallback mode but that shouldn't be on by default in a fresh install. Gnome 3's hardware requirements are a bit stricter than gnome 2's were, so if it's an old laptop you might not be able to run gnome 3's standard experience on it. |
#LateReply Don't know what was broken. Installed some updates and the problem resolved itself.
