Question limewire wont connect fc3

i must first say that im sort of a linux noob, i know what im doing but i dont. Ok so installed the latest version of java from suns website then i installed limewire. then limewire wouldnt open so i deleted the simlink java located in /usr/bin/ and copied and made a new simlink to java in /usr/bin from /usr/java/jre1.6.0_02/bin and limewire opened but now it wont connect.im not behind selinux or any other firewall. i have a linksys router and i tried triggering the port 6436, but then i have a windows system that was having connection issues after that so i reset the router. im not sure if this a java issue or what. if theres anyone out there that can help me PLEASE respond!!!
