Hi guys,
I'm funning FC4 with the 2.6.12-1.1447_FC4 kernel
Well it was late and i was buzzing from fixing several Linux related problems so i decided to tackle getting Cedega up and running for some games.
I figured the best place to start was the ATI drivers (for 3d acceleration) for my card (Radeon 9700).
I went to their site and did some looking and found a proper installer (.run) and instructions. Seemed they had got their act together since i last ventured on this path.
So i downloaded, installed and followed the instructions. This involved running fglx-config to write a new one, i pretty much went with the suggested defaults (let it decide refrsh on Hor/Vert sync etc.
All seemed fine, and then i rebooted, after i booted it got to the stage where X is started and then it just hangs on a black screen
. I did notice just before that it flashes up a message containing the word "audit", which i think is to do with SELinux? but i thought i had disabled it.
Can anyone advise a way to roll back the drivers/disable them, or preferably make them work correctly?
I'm going to try booting into fedora rescue/knoppix tonight changing the run level and copying my ~ to a shared Fat partition just incase.
But if you have anything at all to suggest, i'm listening.
Thank you in advance
