Laptop Port Replicator Headphone Problem

Hi,

I'm currently dual booting Windows XP and Fedora Core 3 on a Dell Inspiron 8500. When I'm at home, I typically keep my laptop plugged into the port replicator I purchased from Dell. Under Fedora, everything seems to be working well with the replicator (USB Keyboard, Mouse, Parallel Printer port, Power, Cat5 connection), however, when I plug my speaker system into the headphone jack on the port replicator, I get no sound.

I know that the jack works fine under XP. I know that sound is configured correctly under Fedora on the PC speakers, and I also have confirmed that it works fine when I plug my speakers into the headphone jack on the laptop itself. The only problem arises when I try to use the headphone jack on the port replicator.

I've googled this problem, and have been unable to find any mention of it anywhere, so any help anyone could give would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Geoff
