Laptop gets stuck at boot time
Hello. I have Fedora Cora 8 on my Toshiba Tecra A9 laptop.
Every other time or so, when I first turn it on, I get the "booting the kernel" (and the "kernel is alive" thing at the bottom) but the: Red Hat Nash version 6.0.19 does not appear. It just waits forever at "booting the kernel". I power it off, and on again, and the second or third time usually it starts out fine and loads the kernel and the rest. Any ideas why? Thanks! -turgut |
I don't know if this will help, but I had a similar problem with my Think Pad. At Staples, a salesman suggest an "Antec" fan base for my computer. This solved the problem almost. If I have several items attached to my USB ports (printer, mouse, two thumb drive and the fan-base) it may still "stall" but by disconnecting some of the items and restarting it seems to boot OK and I can re-connect the dis-connected items.
