ksoftirqd eating >60% of my CPU

Just installed FC 2 on my new shuttle and found that while booting into FC2, it took quite some time for it to bring up eth0. After finally booting into X, ksoftirqd is lagging my whole system. (P4 2.4ghz with 2gb ram)

I also realised I can't ping to my gateway even though I can set up my network configurations. (ip, gateway, dns etc)

I also found out that the NIC in this shuttle is a Broadcom BCM4400 (found out by booting knoppix and doing a lsmod) which when I did a lsmod, I can't find it.

So I'm just wondering if I can install the latest driver for my NIC, the ksoftirqd problem will be gone?

btw, I downloaded the broadcom driver from their web site but I still can't install the driver either using src.rpm or .tar.gz. Anyone managed to get it installed in FC2?

Thanks
