Angry Konsole, bell and font in status bar

WHaa...

Getting crazy about now... I have upgraded my laptop with FC2 to FC3. Now when I am in Konsole (using KDE), when I enter tab for auto-completion on the prompt, which creates a 'bell', the font of the status bar is altered, causing the bar to resize a little. This, in turn, causes the command line not to get updated with the auto-completion.

This causes the current action on my prompt not to be updated..

how to reproduce:

create a file called file1 and one called file2.

enter a command like 'vi fi' up to the 'i', enter tab. in my case it DOES autoexpand to 'file' but it DOES NOT show this. now when I see 'fi' still, I want to append the 'le' to it, causing it to be 'filele' because it didn't show that it auto-expanded the line from 'fi' to 'file'..
Still with me?...

Does anyone else have this with FC3, or is it because I have upgraded or so? If it is known, I'd like to know the solution, otherwise I might be thinking about a complete re-install.. Linux should not need to be re-installed is my opinion.

PS in konsole it doesn't matter which font I select, the stock display of Konsole does this already.
