I have been experiencing strange behavior where kde window applications wont display. I try to run control center, konsole, or any kde app and my computer thinks for a bit, but nothing...nothing appears. It's very, very annoying. A reboot seems to solve the problem.
Also firefox makes strange sounds right as pages load. It's a buzzing beep sort of sound. It didn't used to do that....
I hadn't thought of that. You mean Ctrl-Alt-F1 to a console screen, start up an xterm, and then try to run kde apps from there? I will give it a try.... I am very used to being able to solve problems without having to reboot, but recently this odd problem has been causing me to do otherwise. After the reboot though, everything seems to be ok. Slightly annoying.
Again thanks for the advice. I'll try it next time.
