Question keyboard and mouse pad no response(Compaq EVO N410c notebook)

Hi all,
I have a problem with my notebook(Compaq EVO N410c) that running Fedora core 1. When I'm using AC power everything is ok,But When I'm using the battery power(without AC) ,I keep my xwindow idle about 3 minutes then the keyboard and the mouse pad is no response(butthe USB mouse still working.).What is the problem?

p.s. My English is not very well,hope you guys can understand what I'm talking about :-)

I have new HP (nx7010) laptop and it behaves same way with fedora.
Keyboard stops responding after few minutes... havent paid attention to that if it is on battery or AC... gonna check it.

btw. same problem is with slack9.1
