im having trouble compiling my kernel

I go to the directory
/usr/src/kernels/2.6.22.4-65.fc7-i686


run make menuconfig , save the changes but when i do something like

make

I get this output:

CHK include/linux/version.h
CHK include/linux/utsrelease.h
make[1]: *** No rule to make target `missing-syscalls'. Stop.
make: *** [prepare0] Error 2
