KDE vs. KDE

Is there any difference besides the Bluecurve theme between Fedora Core KDE (like from the cd or apt-get) and a Pure KDE (like from the website?)

As part of the Bluecurve theme KDE and Gnome share the same desktop. Icons that you place on the Gnome desktop also appear on the KDE desktop. In their natural state you can crate completely different Gnome and KDE desktops.

I also found that Fedora was missing some programs in the kdeadmin package, specifically kpackage. I created a kdeadmin rpm package that conforms to the way that KDE publishes it:

In your effort to create a Bluecurve free KDE you will probably have to audit what programs come in each KDE rpm versus how kde.org organizes the programs into packages.

1. your link did not work for some reason.
2. I guess that means I will have to download all the tar files and figure out how to compile them, I have foudnthe instructions to be a bit hard to follow, maybe it's just me.
3. is the only thing I am going to need from the Install the X Server?

"1. your link did not work for some reason."

My web page conforms to XML standards. Therefore Internet Explorer does not display it. If you are having trouble with my web page on a Linux browser, please let me know.

You might also look at kdm. Bluecurve uses a highly modified version of gdm (I think). You might want to compile kdm and change the graphic login from Bluecurve to pure kdm.
