K3B burn speed
 

Hi,
Does anyone know why, when I burn a regular CD with K3b it says that its initializing at 40x but in the end it only averages about 7x? This seems rather odd since everything is recognized at the proper speeds and its just a CD. By the way it also burns DVDs, but thats at the expected rate of about 4x.

Yeah mine burns really slow too, the same CDs in nero burn fine :\

Weird, my burner usually runs at 10x when it is just an 8x.

I have noticed that on some occassions. My writer is also 40x but sometimes the writing speed never exceeds 12x. Probably it could be something to do with the media being used.
