Java plugin for Mozilla in Fedora2
 

Hi,

I am trying to install java plugin for my mozilla, I have j2sdk installed in my computer, so I just make a symbol link to my mozilla plugins directory.

ln -s /usr/local/j2sdk1.4.2_04/jre/plugin/i386/ns4/libjavaplugin.so .
ln -s /usr/local/j2sdk1.4.2_04/jre/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so .

I restart my mozilla, but java plugin still doesn't work, any solutions, thank you!

I HAVE SEARCHED in the forum and google before I ask this question.

I install my java plugin follow the steps in the web tutorial, I got it work in my mandrake, but when I do the same thing in Fedora2, it doesn't work, i don't know why, that's why I AM ASKING.

How do you know I am always running the GUI stuff? Anyway, if there is GUI sfuff, why bother yourself with command line? DO NOT expect everybody is a computer scientist and happy with command line, most people are just normal user!

Sorry for being impolite, just want to let you know, this question maybe seems simple for you, but here is Linux newbies come for help, isn' it? If you don't want to answer this question, just ignore it, no need to post anything.

that was the important part of my answer, you apparently focused on the irrelevant stuff. I don't want to be rude too so stop it. I don't want to use few words of 4 letters.

I have tried command line, no error accurs, the java plugin just didn't work. Anyway, I remove the default mozilla, re-install mozilla 1.6, everything works fine now.

To mrcheeks. Linux is, and should not be expected to be, for the computer savvy only. It is becoming a gui based OS for the everyperson, not just for the command line players. Just because someone has a fix for a problem does not mean that the fix will be intelligible to neophytes. We need said neophytes to be unafraid to ask questions without fear of reprimand.

ln -s /usr/local/j2sdk1.4.2_04/jre/plugin/i386/ns4/libjavaplugin.so .
just delete this one, because current mozilla is compiled by GCC32 or above. and make sure your shortcut is valid!
