IPv4 static ip prefix problem

I am trying to load Fedora Core 6 on my HP dv6000t coreduo laptop and can't get past network setup in the installer. I always use static IPs for my home network:

10.0.0.121 this laptop eth0
10.0.0.100 gateway (my home built shorewall-NAT boxen)
255.0.0.0 netmask
10.255.255.255 broadcast
4.2.2.2 dns

Fedora installer keeps crashing. I don't understand what format the installer wants for IPv4 or IPv6 prefix. This is the wired 10/100 ethernet port.

Fedora Core 6 - installer exception error:
... ("ipv4AddressEntry").set_text(netdev.get("ipaddr")) AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'set_text'

I have already used Slackware 11, SUSE 10.1, and Ubunto 6.06 on this laptop - never had to enter anything but the normal static IP address things listed above. I've searched IPv4 and IPv6 prefix and just get more confused.

Many thanks for any help -

Thanks for the help! I had tried using DHCP and it failed a bit farther along during the install.

So, NO network was the 'golden key' to get it installed. Was no problem setting up network later as root with gnome network tool. I'm up and running...

I found that same IPv4 - IPv6 error problem in some 2005 posts so it looks like it has been an on-going install script glitch for static ip.

FC 6 final looks solid so far, but sound does not support my HP laptop headphone jack just like all the other alsa loads I've done. Was hoping Fedora might have it working. I'll poke around and try to get headphones turned on...

Thanks again...
