internet setup help in fedora core3?

Hi everyone, I live in Australia and am trying to set up a basic dial-up connectionto my ISP.I realise that I have to enter the info in manually because my country is not one of the half a dozen countries listed.(Perhaps they should realise there are more countries than that, or at least list the major
regions of the world). can anyone give me an idea of what settings to use,I've
just about gone crazy trying different ones. when I try to activate with the settings I've tried so farI get the message "failed to activate with error 2" whatever that means. By the way my modem is an external analogue serial modem connected to serial port 1. I also have Xandros desktop 3 on my system
and this modem works fine with it, although Xandros says it's connected to comm port 8. Still works fine though!

usually a modem (external) will be on port ttSy0 or something to that effect. When you go to configure your dialup settings, you'll be given a list of ISPs. This is only a suggestion and you don't have to stick to it. Click "Configure" or "Other" and you'll be told to enter your ISP's phone number, your username, and your password. Try this and if you've any trouble, write back
