installing software
Installed fedora 6 and things are just starting to go wrong.
One: System does not recognize my usb cdrw drive (iomega zip).
Two: When I installed I installed the default selection, which was gnome with the intention of installing kde and other software from the remaining cd's later. When I attempted to run add/remove software, it would not respond because I was not connected to the network.
WHY DO YOU HAVE TO CONNECT TO THE NETWORK TO INSTALL SOFTWARE FROM THE FEDORA CD'S.
Therefore I connected to the network and the system first downloaded updates for the software BEFORE allowing me to run add/remove software.
When eventually it allowed me to run add/remove software it was so slow. Eventually I was able to select KDE. Only for it to hang for an enternity with the message box "Resolving dependencies for updates">
I only want to install KDE from the cd's downloaded from bit torrent.
This is not going well. Thinking about another distro already.
