installing reiserfs into fedora

We are running Fedora Core 9 on one of our systems, and the question was asked if it is possible to install the reiserfs filesystem. If so, what is the name of the package? Thanks.

I don't think Fedora supports reiserfs, I have just installed GParted, and it will format ext2, ext3, fat16, fat32, linux swap and ntfs.
Reisefs is in there but not highlighted, maybe it needs a kernel module to make it work.

indeed - the kernel support is a prerequisite to using it - as well as the tools to create, manipulate, check reiserfs.
http://www.fedorafaq.org/#reiserjfs
they state:
Quote:
You cannot use SELinux on ReiserFS or JFS
I don't know why.

Well reiserfs is enabled in the fedora kernel. You have to install the utilities if you want to create one.

Quote:
yum install reiserfsprogs
If it isn't reiserfsprogs then it is reiserfsutils. Note that fedora does not support reiser4 though.

Just for reference: It's now called reiserfs-utils
so,
Code:
  dnf install reiserfs-utils
is your friend
