Installing JAVA through yum

I used the command
yum --enablerepo=dag install j2re mozilla-j2re
However, I do not see java in firefox 1.02 in about:-plugins. I remember usually you have to soft link libjavaplugin for it to work, but I can't find that anywhere. What is the next step to get java working in firefox?

I'm not sure where you installed everything, but I believe the default install is /usr/java/jdk1.5.0_02/. In this case, the plugin would be located in /usr/java/jdk1.5.0_02/jre/plugin/i386/ns7-gcc29/. Take the .so file in there and put a symlink to it in /usr/lib/firefox-0.10.1/plugins.

That should be it.

Replaced ns7-gcc29 with ns7 and it worked. It would crash if I used the libjavaplugin in ns7-gcc29. It had to be the one in the ns7 directory.
