Installing Fedora blind, deaf, and dumb. Well, not dumb.
Hello,
I've got a tricky one-- How to install fedora with no CD, floppy, or even network?
I'm trying to install fedora on a computer to which the only input access I have is by swapping the hdd to a system with a dvd drive and internet. I tried installing fedora on that system then transplanting the hdd, with intents to recompile the kernel later. It boots up on the target system, but I can't get X to start up because it's (probably) configured for the other system's video. I could go through and manually set it up I guess, but I think it'd be a lot easier to just run the fedora setup from scratch.
So, what I want to know:
If I were to copy the entire fedora install DVD onto the hdd, and was able to get into a stable linux shell, how would I initialize the install program? Everything I've read on the internet explains using a liveCD, and no where can I find how to install when you've already got an OS running (and no CD drive).
Am I left with reconfiguring everything manually, or is there some way I can make use of that super sexy graphical installer?
Thanks.
