Mi notebook has an ATI x700 video card. When I tried to install FC6 it didn't run the graphic installation, just displayed a black screen. I had to use the text mode installation.
Now I downloaded Fedora 7 KDE live-cd (I don't want to spend a DVD for a lot of programs I won't install), but it has the same problem, when I run it, the graphic console shows the black screen and I only can use the text consoles. I know how to fix the problem once the OS is installed (at least I could with FC6), but I don't know how to install the OS without running in graphic mode.
Please, if someone knows how.

I've never heard of the live cd having a text installation option. If you have a good internet connection, you could do a network installation using the rescue disc.

I found it. In the text console you type
# anaconda --method=livecd:///dev/live-osimg --text
I didn't use "--text", because anaconda checks the graphic card and if finds an error, starts the instalation in text mode.

If someone has the same problem, just install the OS, start in level 3, install livna repo and then, kmod-fglrx package. Then "# aticonfig --initial" to fix the graphic console problem.
It doesn't have 3d acceleration, but I'll check it later. Anyway, I don't use beryl or games in Linux.
