Installing FC2 with existing WinXP (different drive)?

Hi
I read about a workaround for configuring a dualboot system that already has windows installed on it, and wondered if anyone could answer what's probably a silly question from a newbie (bear in mind this is the 1st time I've ever installed Linux).
I have XP installed on my C: drive and intended to install Fedora on my currently blank D: drive which I wanted to partially partition for Windows, partially for Linux. If the Linux partition is not on the same drive as the XP boot partition will I still have the same problem booting windows or is the dualboot problem only an issue if both OS's are installed on the same drive?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated,

Adam

NO,you wont have any problems. You can safely partition the D drive into two parts ,as you said you wanted, and install linux into one of them .For the second question, yes,so dont worry
