installing FC from hdd.

hi all

well the story is like this, iam trying different types of setups to learn more and get more experiance, install method is from hard drive, now the install files are 3 iso images ( yarrow-i386-disc1.iso,yarrow-i386-disc2.iso etc...) i made a partition just for it under [b/]dev/hdb2[/b] type ext3 under mount point /isos trough the fedora install, now i removed grub from the mbr (didnt touch the partition's where fc1 was installed (/ root folder, boot, swap).) , then i use the fc cd 1 (linux askmethod command.) to choose the install type from hard disk(could use boot.iso image from floppy ,doesnt matter atm. ) then i choose the hard disk location where the iso images are (i.e. /dev/hdb2)but it sais it cant find the install files ,so i reinstalled grub tryed the same method agian (fc1 linux askmethod) and now it found it. meaning fc1 saw the iso images only when grub was installed.

so my questions are:
why did fc1 saw the iso images only when grub was installed?
how i suppost to do clean install if fc1 needs grub in order to see the .iso files?
is it better to extract the iso files into folder's (cd 1,cd 2 etc..) will the install will see it the install files then?
or is the problem isnt in grub at all but in something else?

Thx in advance u guys and sorry if my english sucks

when you are trying to installed fedora without grub installed i believe the organization of the drives are different some how.
os when you are installing without grub do a rescue when the cd boots up and see if you mount the folder that the iso files are in and then reboot and use that same path again when reinstalling.
