Pretty simple, really. Just pop your Fedora disk in your CD drive, set your BIOS to boot from CD and, when you're prompted during the installation procedure, select your new disk as the one you want to install to. The install programme will format the drive for you (accept the defaults - think Fedora defaults to EXT3 file system, which will be fine).

You'll want to allow Fedora to handle booting for you (let it install a boot-loader to MBR on your first hard disk), also make a nice boot floppy. If everything goes tits-up and you can't boot Windows anymore, just boot from the XP disk, choose recovery console and run "fixmbr" - you'll be back to square one, but you will still be able to boot from floppy to get into linux.

Any problems, let me know.

Sorry - assuming you are using Windows XP. If not, a Windows boot-floppy would be a handy thing to have.

I am doing the same thing chris. I am dual-booting xp pro and fedora core 1. I have the windows boot loader load up first and then if I want to choose linux the windows boot loader hands off to grub. This is a lot safer and will not destroy the mbr for windows at all. Just make sure you have a boot floppy for linux in case linux cannot load. Here is a webpage for instructions. http://www.geocities.com/epark/linux...w2k-HOWTO.html If you still have questions, just ask.
