Install error with Intel motherboard

Fedora 10 64bit
Motherboard Intel DG41RQ
Pentium processor E5300 LGA775 Dual core FSB 800 Mhz Freq 2.6 Ghz
Onboard graphics: PCI Express* x16
When start the installation, I can see the anaconda gui menu (after media scan). The install stop when click the first Next button.

I have a old Fedora 6 32bit dvd. Using same machine, the install process ocurr normal, but at the first boot, when the system try to load the gui, the monitor error says:
h: 90.3 khz
v: 60.2Hz
out of range

I have change the monitor by a LCD screen, but the problem persist.
How can define manually the correct range of frecuency?
I prefer to install the Fedora 10 but the problem is more difficult than Fedora 6.

Ok. I was trying install Fedora 12 in another machine (a fast Acer AMD 64 Phenom quad-core). Run great.. the ATI video dont.. but run great. As I see to install samba server there is a difficult.
Now Fedora dont let logon with root user. Only can be invoked.
The smbpasswd -a username dont work. It need the root user.
su smbpasswd -a username dont work.
Because cant logon with root, cant create a folder into /home directory.
Only can add a folder with the name of a new user what has been add to the system (logic, right?
If you have some trouble with samba in the newer Fedora, plz share.
