Incorect CPU Speed

I have a Pentium 4 3GHz HT processor. However the CPU speed shows 2400MHz in /proc/cpuinfo. In Windows XP however, it shows 2.99GHz, so I am pretty sure BIOS settings are okay. How can I fix this in Linux?

Contents if my /proc/cpuinfo is (I am using Fedora Core 6 i386 edition):

Hi,

I think everything is fine.
Quote:
model name : Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz
Your CPU is correctly detected.
Quote:
cpu MHz : 2400.000
This is the current CPU speed. If CPU is idle, it slows down to safe energy (SpeedStep).

Don't worry :-)
