Icons and more disappeared
I use FC 3 and Gnome
I was going to disable some, to me, unnecessary services with system-config-services and while i was going through the list i think i disabled something that made everything on the desktop disappear right when i disabled it. All icons and the toolbar is gone. I tried to login with the terminal only and run system-config-services again to enable all services but that dint help, they are still gone. I can login as root with everything working so i might be able to fix it but i dont know what went wrong. |
I can get the icons back if i run nautilus in the safemode terminal but no the toolbar and the top bar on all windows. Seems like Gnome is not starting up as it should. Can i fix this?

Hey, did you ever get or find any help for the disappearing icons? I was looking through the forums before posting a request, but I was actually looking to do so preventive maintenance. I had the same problem you did only I was using FC6 with Xfce. Like yourself I had done nothing to cause it. I don't believe I had even done any updates recently. Mine occurred after a restart. Azuerus had locked the system up.
