I just installed fedora core 2 and some how I missed the mouse hardware configuration during setup, could some one tell me if core 2 has a mouse hardware selector and if so where? BTY I have logitech mx700, thanks

You didn't miss it. It just isn't there anymore. I have the same problem. During and after install, mouse doesn't work. I tried with /usr/sbin/mouseconfig but that has no effect.

I also tried to change the /etc/X11/XF86Config from /dev/psaux to /dev/input/mice, but that did not do any good. I don't know what else to try. You can try this solutions as these are the only solutions offered by google search AFAIK.

I must have changed XF86Config and XF86Config-4 25 times for this problem.
nothing worked.
I would try to pull out Fedora core 2 disc 1 and run
system-config-mouse in text mode.

if that doesn't work (it didn't for me) install core2 again but don't choose upgrade
before you log out go to text mode and do a df -h
and write down the partitions and what directories they have /, /home /var etc.
Then on install (not upgrade) ** be very careful that you don't format partitions that have stuff you want to save**

After I re-installed (not upgraded) my logitech cordless wheel mouse USB worked perfectly (even the wheel scroll) which if you search on LQ you will find is a not very common thing to work perfectly by default. I didn't lose any data on my machine but my sound card and MATLAB need to be reconfigured.
I just tackled MATLAB and won now I say bring it on to the sound card.
