I Can't play *.swf flash movie!!

Ive installed the flashplayer and flashplayer plugin for firefox.

when I opened a swf file, the flashplayer will be "dead",I must use the command "kill" to close it.

Does "aboutlugins" (type it in the address bar of your browser) show that Flash is enabled?

Mine, for example, shows:
Shockwave Flash

File name:
Shockwave Flash 7.0 r25

MIME Type Description Suffixes Enabled
application/x-shockwave-flash Shockwave Flash swf Yes
application/futuresplash FutureSplash Player spl Yes
