How to yum my way from FC2 - FC3

Is it possible to upgrade from FC2 to FC3 using yum alone? And if so how would I go about doing that?

Thanks

By download fedora release and yum..what exactly do you mean?

Forgive my ignorance

sorry my fault !
Download the Fedora Core 3 version of fedora-release and yum from one of the Fedora Core mirrors.
I did this:
wget http://fedora.glorb.com/core/3/i386/...e-3-8.i386.rpm
wget http://fedora.glorb.com/core/3/i386/...1-3.noarch.rpm

I then installed them although i had to use the --force flag when installing the RPMs as /etc/sysconfig/rhn/sources from the Fedora Core 3 fedora-release conflicts with up2date.

rpm -Uvh --force fedora-release-3-8.i386.rpm yum-2.1.11-3.noarch.rpm

Hope this helps a bit more!

Ok thanks, it should, I'm just sorta afraid to do this on my server.

Yes, it worked for me. This is my first yum upgrade and it worked flawlessly.

Thanks, Pembo, it worked great for me too!

Slinky - thanks for the instructions. I, too, upgraded to FC3 via yum and it worked for me - no problems.
