How to update FC4 -> FC5 with LVM when Anaconda does not exclude other VGs?

I want to upgrade my FC4 LVM installation to FC5. Once booted it finds my current installation, but it also finds a second VG (a VG it should not touch!) and it offers me a single option (next to re-installing): Reboot. My question is thus: How can I upgrade my FC4 installation?

Couldn't you just use Yum to upgrade your FC from the net? That shouldn't mess your volume groups..

I've tried to upgrade the system with yum, but then I get a lot of dependency errors. Guess, I'm left to upgrade the system the hard way.
