How to un-install vsFTPd?

Hey Guys:

I recently installed vsFTPd on my laptop but I was unable to get it working. I'm pretty sure it was something I did wrong so I used the yum remove vsftpd command to remove it...at least I thought I removed it. When I put my laptop on the network again to reload it I got the following:

[root@ordinary12 ~]# yum install vsftpd
Loading "installonlyn" plugin
Repository 'macromedia' is missing name in configuration, using id
Existing lock /var/run/yum.pid: another copy is running. Aborting.

I'm a noobie so I have no idea what this means. I get that error about macromedia all the time. Can someone please tell me how to fix that alone with instructions on how to finish the removal of vsFTPd?

That could mean a few things, you could have another yum session going, you could have yumex or pirut open somewhere, or you could have it updating.

You'll probably get this more than once on your linux endevour. But everything is ok don't worry. After a reboot you should be ok, if not and you don' thave anything yum based running you can just deleted the pid file. If you want to double check that somehting is removed you can of course do:
'# yum install vsftpd' and see if it has "INSTALLED" next to it. Or you could also do:
'# rpm -qa | grep vsftpd'
