how to share printer to WinXP Clients/Server

Hi All,

I am newbie. I would like to move to Linux OS, but i have a
problem.

Could anyone help me?

Say that we have a LAN with Win 2000 Server dan WinXP Clients. How can my HP-3920 Printer attached to my machine (with dual OS- FC3 & WinXP)running FC3 be accessed by other WinXP Clients?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

yunus

You could tell them the printer is broken and they will have to use a different printer. :)
If that doesn't work, you will need to setup samba file and printer sharing on your system. There are more than a few posts on this forum about that subject.

LinuxPrinting says the printer works: http://linuxprinting.org/show_printe...P-DeskJet_3920 with HPIJS drive (included in most distribution). You'd need also to install CUPS (to handle the printer and its queue) and Samba (to share it with Windows) to share it with Windows clients. The programs are also in all distributions.
