Unhappy How to setup Tiscali Broadband?

How to set up Tiscali Broadband under FC1

I have recently got Tiscali Broadband (UK) and I want to be able to set it up under Fedora Core 1. I used to have Tiscali Dial-Up but my WinModem was incompatible with Linux. The free modem that came with the broadband package, a Thompson SpeedTouch ADSL 330, is listed under 'USB Devices' in the KDE control centre, the modem responds at /dev/I0 (I think, obviously I'm using Windows at the moment), and in Windows the software dials 0 to verify the user name and password, but that doesn't work in KPPP and I don't know much else!

Please Help!!!

Same problem as usual:

USB ADSL modem need a driver; usually not availaible for Linux.

It is better to have a Modem for Ethernet.

a) get a decent router, vastly preferable to those crappy usb modems, most ISP's seem to be moving towards them, e.g. BT only provide (afaik) a voyager 205 1 port router now, no usb devices - more secure, easier to use.

b) http://speedtouch.sf.net

Thumbs up

I just downloaded the FC2 RPM from the SF site, I hope it works under FC1. If I do get it working, do I have to enter any connection details for ADSL, or just dial '0' and enter my username+password? I presume it just connects straight through ADSL to Tiscali. (I don't know, I used a setup CD that did everything in Windows)

Thanks!

P.S. Sorry for the late reply
