How to set up broadband in Fedora Core 3?
I have a ready internet broadband service,
in fedora, how to set up ?

what hardware do you have ?
nic card or usb connect to modem ?

an ADSL modem,
using LAN cable connected to PC network point.

NIC connected to modem should be configured by DHCP most likely, so it will correctly determine default gateway and DNS info.

I have adsl all i did was adsl-setup and i use pppoe it work on my adsl sbc.

braodband on fc3
What I did in fedora core 4 successfully my work for you. Via Applications go to
System Tools and to Newrokd Device Control. Choose Configure, New and xDSl
give username and password provided to you by your provider. Activate the device. The ethernet card conneted to your modem shoud be activated first.

mantesh, You need to provide more details about your internet connection for us to help you.
Is it ADSL, xDSL, 56k, ISDN, etc.?
How is it connected to your computer.
NIC, USB Modem, Router, etc.?
Who is the service provider. There may be someone else here who uses the same ISP as you do.

hey....just read the thread and m facing the same problem......m not able to configure my broadband on fedora 7 ...it just does'nt gets activated......maybe i'm doin sumthing wrong!!! if sumbody can help??
my conn XDSL
USB modem
service provider -broadband
i have'nt activated eth0 b4 activating modem....i actually tried but activation failed.... i read sumwhere that its a dummy factor!!!
so ny suggestions as on how to configure my broadband connection!!....m a newbee u c!
