how to remove kernel


i installed a new kernel in Fedora Core 3

when grub loads this shows in my boot oprions:

Fedora Core (kernel-xxxx_FC3) - i think this is the new kernel i installed

Fedora Core (Kernel-xxxx) - this is my old kernel

Windows XP - my windows OS

i can't load linux w/ the new kernel, but im succesful w/ my old kernel, how can i remove the new kernel?

1. I think rpm -e kernel shoul do it.
2. Edit /boot/grub/menu.lst

If you installed the new kernel from an rpm package then you remove the new kernel with this command:

rpm -e kernel-xxxx_FC3

Then you edit /boot/grub/grub.config and remove the title section for kernel-xxxx_FC3.

And if you used yum type (as root)yum remove packagename
Any idea why the new one doesn't boot? Perhaps a corrupt download?
You might try again after removing the current version. Good Luck!

That worked just fine! I uninistalled one of my kernels and quite happy referencing the commands/information that was presented.
