Question How to install Font Server in FedoraCore2--my font server failed

I was installing gnome 2.8 from cvs, and after i restarted i cannot get into X11-graphical mode, the screen blinks between terminal and it trys to goto X11 but it fails and repaetedly drop the following error..

[drm:i830-wait-ring] *ERROR* Lockup
[drm:i830-wait-ring]*ERROR space:131056 wanted 131064

Then i somehow managed to boot my system in terminal by editing /etc/inittab.

When i saw the log file it reports that

could not init font path element unix/:7100 removing from list
could not open default font 'fixed'

And when i boot X11 it fails repeatedly....

I think that font server is the problem, how could i install the font sever and restore the system from the problem?

Specification:
Distribution : Fedora Core 2
Ram size : 256 MB
