If you already have a partition set aside for Linux, the process is extremely easy.
The Grub bootloader sets up as part of the install. I only recommend that you make sure to read each screen of the setup process and make sure you understand it before the actaul install (point of no return) initiates.

With grub, you can set up which system will be the default for booting, option selection time, rename partitions, etc. It's got a lot of good features, just (again) make sure you understand each step.

Fedora is a good choice for the beginner. It's actually where I started (though I use SuSE now). There's a really good Fedora for dummies book available that I highly recommend for a true beginner. If you are more familiar with computers, just about any of the long list of general Linux books are good.

Good luck...

Hello

It should be rather simple: boot your pc with the fedora cd-rom, and install everything you need.

At the end of the installation procedure, you will be asked if you want to install a bootloader (GRUB). Normally, other operating systems present on your pc will be recognized. Also, Fedora will be the default to boot, but you can change that afterward.

When you reboot a menu, either text or graphical, will show where you can select your OS.

One problem often coming back: when you reinstall Windows or you install Linux and Windows after that, Windows overwrites the master boot record (MBR), and the bootloader will be inaccessible. But Linux is still there. This can be repaired with the Fedora cd-rom.

Bye
