Incoming Server: pop.<name of provider here>.com

Outgoing Server: smtp.<name of provider here>.com

i.e. in my case it's:

pop.ntlworld.com

smtp.ntlworld.com

Yahoo does not provide free pop3 or imap services but there is a work around for thunderbird

http://webmail.mozdev.org/webmail.html

on this link you will find an add-on for thunderbird and instructions on how to use it
