how to change SCIM icon on panel

The SCIM icon on my gnome panel is too small. How can I change it to something else? Thanks

From what I can see it looks like scim is not using scalable attributes in the notification area. The icon being used is /usr/share/scim/icons/keyboard.png. Even if you change the .png to be larger than 16x16 it remains 16x16 on the screen. Adjusting the size on the panel properties also has no effect even though other icons adjust. I don't know much about this app, but I would suspect that a coding change might be necessary to get it to scale.

I tried setting keyboard.png -> kterm.xpm in dir /usr/share/scim/icons but it doesn't seem the icon changes at all. It could be set somewhere else.
