View Poll Results: How fast does FC load for you?(from when you push your comps power button)
I was just wondering about how fast Fedora loads up for different ppl, so I know if mine starts slow or about the same as everyone elses. If you post pls put processor speed and type, Amount of ram. Thanx
mine would be faster but needs to be tweaked...a lot of time is wasted waiting for one NIC or the other to time out because its either not connected or not in range of the access point.
EDIT: nevermind...I just read the rest of the poll.
I don't think that's a very fair question...should be from when kernel is choosen in Grub/Lilo as everything before that has nothing to do with Fedora/OS. My PowerEdge takes a long while to get to Grub as my SCSI RAID controller (PERC) spins up the drives, etc etc.
Wat about people between 1.5 & 2 minutes? You left that out of the poll. Also people with different bootloaders, GUIs will have diferent times. Sometimes when timing an os boot you dont include the time required by the BIOS since it isnt strictly a part of the OS.
Definatly takes longer from GRUB than my redhat 9 distro did.. and far longer than Windows does (i know you cant compare due to linux loading everything and windows in background but still....) Havnt had any experiance with other distros other than this.. Ill play when i got more money to spend on CDR's
