Unhappy how do i install and run programs under fedora linux?

i am new to linux and i have fedora core 1 and i was wondering how do i install programs and what do i need to install it and where do i go to run the program????? what i am trying to install is dos box.

In case it doesn't tell you in the link, you also need the software development packages that can be installed by going to add /remove programs in the task menu.
