Linux & usb.......

I also encouter problems with usb peripherals.
apart from my mouse & usb storage key, make usb devices work has been a pain in the ass.

Take a look on sourceforge.net if a driver exists for your devices shipset, compile it & check if it works decently
Actually, some brands make ethernet wifi client modules.

is it just the fedora core machine that won't connect to web, or is your entire network down? [assuming you have several computers on your network].

a side note: fedora core 2 comes with a 2.6 kernel, which i _personally_ have never managed to make work properly with usb devices (i have a computer with usb mouse and internet which won't work). you might conisder installling FC1 or RH9 with the 2.4 kernel and determining wether the network functions with any linux at all. it might be that the M$ cards won't work with anything except M$ operating systems...don't know tho...

good luck,
