Help me connect to internet on Fedora 7
As I'm a totally new to Linux, this problem might have a trivial solution. Briefly described, I manage to establish a wired connection to the router through ethernet card. This router is wirelessly connected to the gateway. I can log in(even ping) to the gateway but i cannot access the internet through the web browser.
What I've got:
- intel pentium 4
- Some ethernet card Silon (I think) card
- Fedora Core 7 (with KDE desktop)
- wireless/ethernet router (Tp Link)
- plus the correct driver for my card - installed
There seem to be no hardware problems.I have configured the static IP address,Subnet mask and gateway as provided to me by my internet service provider. With these settings, my internet connection works fine on windows XP.
I have downloaded and installed Cyberoam Client for linux and made it working. I can login, logout and ping to the gateway through the shell by this client.
However, when I try to open any site on the Firefox browser, it says that " the following is using an insecure SSL protocol" and "displays site not found"
Is there any way to connect to the internet? OR are there any settings need to be done to the browser/firewall/proxy/other?
What did I forget to do?
Thanks for your help people.
