This one is weird...

On EVERY OTHER BOOT-UP, FC5 hangs after the file system checks. The last line reads "swap space tem quotas write mode [OK]"
Then it stops

On a successful boot, I see the same file system checks but the line above does not appear.

(I think) this appeared after installing new SATA drives and re-installing everything. I have, however, had FC5 hang on startup, but not with the same line showing.

I have 5 other distros on this machine and none of them hangs on bootup.

Athlon XP2400 (oveclocked to 2246MHz)
2 ea SATA-II 250GB (Seagate) on Promise TX4302 controller
1GB ram

After grub when the kernel starts to load press I for interactive mode. The see exactly which bit breaks on you.

also see if anything is writen to the system log that might give you a clue.
