Gthumb - And error occured in the io-library

Hi,

I get an error message "An error occured in the io-library ("Could not claim the USB device")..... when trying to import photos from digital camera via usb. I am using gthumb and having FC5 in my computer. Camera is Canon Powershot S30.

I have used this many years now with no such an error. Only thing that I could think that has changed is that I did an "yum install update" a while ago. But thats all I could think of.

Does someone know what is the reason for this message and how to solve it??

I guess with root access, I wouldn't get this error message (I havent tried yet). But anyway I would like to use gthumb as "normal" user and import photos as before (not as a root).

Thanks!

I found a solution from previous posts:

1) Connect your camera
2) su -
3) chmod -R 777 /dev/bus

So it was a permission problem. Permission in the folder was probably changed during yum update (?)
