gstreamer ugly without rpmfusion

Hi,

I have this computer I actively use. Sys-admin forbids us from using third party repos. Compiling from source is allowed if a copy of the source sent to him. He made it clear he won't help unless system is fubar.

Because I choose fedora as always I ended up with only pc in whole room which cannot play music and video. I have root access, I tried to compile gstreamer ugly. I downloaded 0.10.16, ./configure said mp3 dependency missing so I downloaded lame from sourceforge.

I did '.configure' , 'make' and 'make install' on lame and gstreamer ugly. I didn't read all the stuff flowed through the screen but there was no warnings in the last pages. I tried play mp3 with totem but it failed. Do I have to do something else to get it to work?

Alternatively, can you help me make a case that rpmfusion is trustable?

mistake #1
you NEED TO READ the errors

you are 'up "bleeps" creek with out a paddle '

i take it you can not install the hundred or so program sourcees so you can build ALL of the gstreamer code

use a different OS , one that your company dose support .
