gst-thumbnail eating my cpu

a lot of times my cpu load spins up to 100% and the reason is gst-thumbnail... it's eating up my memory.

anyone have a quick solution? i have fc3 installed, xine, gnome 2.8.1....

gst-thumbnail is used by the Nautilus file browser to preview video files - it picks a frame from the video and makes it a thumbnail. You can kill the process each time it starts hogging resources. I think another way to stop it would be to go to preferences in Nautilus, click on the preview tab, and tell it to never show thumbnails of 'Other Previewable Files.' I have heard that there's something called totem that will preview video files for you. I guess it works better or something. I haven't used it.
