LinuxQuestions.org - gpm problem?

I've installed ldcc [Linux Direct Connect Client], which is a text UI for the direct connect protocol, on a FC2 system that runs in text mode only (no X). When I'm trying to lunch ldcc I get the following error, which I suspect is from gpm:
