Gnome 2.8 and recent documents

In GNOME 2.8, is there a way to clear recent documents in Fedora 2. I tried looking for .recently-used but it can't be found. I'd like to clear it and prevent it from having such a list. IS that possible and can anyone help me?

Hi Darkseid. Try this:
Right-click your home folder icon on the desktop and then click Browse Folder. After your home folder opens in the File Browser window, click the Edit menu. Click Preferences. In the Preferences window, check the "Show Hidden and Backup Files" checkbox so that it is selected. Close the Preferences window and then scroll down past all of the folders and other files until you get to the "dot" files(.). You should find one named ".recently-used". I first used the GNOME "Search For Files" program to try to find it, but it didn't find it. After I enabled "Show Hidden and Backup Files" like I described above, I tried the search program again and it still didn't find it. Nevertheless, there it is...right in my home folder. Happy hunting. Hope you find it. Ed. Oh yeah, there may be something in Control Center that will allow you to disable or remove the Recent Documents menu entry. I haven't looked.

You can 'chmod 400' the .recently-used file to make it read-only once you clear your Recent Documents.
